After creating scale models of Lux to be used for marketing material, I realized this would also be a good way of doing aerodynamic testing. I am currently in the design phase of a desktop wind tunnel that can show us how air flows around our aeroshells.
The first image is the first protype I created. Unfortunately, the print time was 25 hours which was significantly longer than I was comfortable with.
The second image shows version 2. This was designed to be simpler to at least show a proof of concept. The whole print can be done in 7 hours.
Along with the PSR Composite's team, I manufactured the 18 foot carbon fiber body of our car.
Due to our composites work being very messy with dust and chemical fumes, we needed an area with good ventilation while also ensuring we didn't damage other team's work.
